Look what people have to say about the RLYW!

CAIRO just takes the Marcels and changes the underlying assumptions and components in a bunch of ways that make the Yankees look better.

Wow, two stupid posts in one day. I think you’ve reached your yearly quota.
sabernar

I don’t know if any of you current posters were around for that, but if so, I just can’t understand how you can call yourselves Yankee fans. Pathetic quitters is what you sounded like. Of the lame posts I could stand to read, the only person who had any confidence in the Yankees at that point was a (yeesh) Red Sox fan.
Jeter is King

Quite the attitude you have SG. Maybe you should shitcan this blog and join Steve at WasWatching? Or follow some other stupid team that has made the PS 15 of the last 17 years. Jeez… and some people think Yankee fans are entitled.

Yankees.com: Yanks hope to leave inconsistent bats on road

The Yankees could not wait to play with Sonny Gray following his blockbuster addition prior to the non-waiver Trade Deadline, but their offense has thus far been unable to muster a single run of support behind the right-hander’s 12 innings with the club.

As he did in his debut against the Indians last week, Gray provided a respectable performance but was overshadowed by his new teammates’ silent bats, which were shut down by Marco Estrada and two relievers as the Blue Jays dispatched the Yankees with a 4-0 victory on Thursday night at Rogers Centre.
“Sonny pitched well enough to keep us in the ballgame, but it’s up to us to get runs, and we didn’t do that tonight,” Brett Gardner said. “I think it’s a lack of consistency on our part as an offense, and sometimes you’ve got to give credit to the pitching.”

Sonny Gray’s two Yankee starts have been bizarre. He’s given up four runs each time, but both times due to bad plays, errors and the like, he clearly pitched better than his results, but at the same time, he didn’t pitch THAT much better than the results. He looks like a decent pitcher and will probably continue to be one, but he’s probably not an ace.

However, if they can’t hit, then it really doesn’t matter, right? And right now, they’re comically bad with runners in scoring position. Unless they sweep the Red Sox this weekend (which is highly unlikely, especially with Chris Sale pitching the finale), there doesn’t seem to be a realistic path to the division. Luckily, the Wild Card race looks pathetic at the moment, and the Yankees are doing well there despite their recent woes. So hopefully they at least hold on to host a Wild Card game.

Jaime Garcia against the Red Sox - that can’t go horribly wrong, right?
