Current Projected

Look what people have to say about the RLYW!

CAIRO just takes the Marcels and changes the underlying assumptions and components in a bunch of ways that make the Yankees look better.

Wow, two stupid posts in one day. I think you’ve reached your yearly quota.

I don’t know if any of you current posters were around for that, but if so, I just can’t understand how you can call yourselves Yankee fans. Pathetic quitters is what you sounded like. Of the lame posts I could stand to read, the only person who had any confidence in the Yankees at that point was a (yeesh) Red Sox fan.
Jeter is King

Quite the attitude you have SG. Maybe you should shitcan this blog and join Steve at WasWatching? Or follow some other stupid team that has made the PS 15 of the last 17 years. Jeez… and some people think Yankee fans are entitled.

Wednesday, September 27, 2017 Yankees secure WC home field, gain on Sox

Aaron Hicks robbed Wilson Ramos of a grand slam with an unbelievable catch, Jordan Montgomery settled in to complete six solid innings and Starlin Castro homered as the Yankees secured home-field advantage for a potential American League Wild Card Game with a 6-1 victory over the Rays on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium.
With the win, the Yankees closed within three games of the Red Sox in the AL East race. The Yanks have secured the first AL Wild Card, so if they do not catch Boston, the Wild Card Game would be played at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. ET. The loss officially eliminated the Rays from postseason contention.

“We’ll just continue fighting and playing good,” Castro said. “They’ve been playing good, too, because every time we’ve won, they’ve won. They lost today, we won. If we continue playing like we’re playing, we’ll see what happens.”

What a catch by Hicks! One of the most impressive catches that you’ll see in a baseball game.

I really think that they should just go with a rotation of Gardner, Ellsbury, Hicks and Judge between the three outfield spots and the DH spot. Which should be what they should do next season, as well. Let Holliday and Frazier leave and whammo, you have a lineup of:

That’s a pretty sweet lineup that provides regular semi-rest for Gardner. Ellsbury and Judge, and there’s easily room there to call up Andujar and give him DH at-bats, as well (and if Torres is playing super well, there’s room for him to get on the team, as well).

They really need to get a better back-up catcher, though, for next season. It shouldn’t be TOO costly to get a decent backup catcher. Romine isn’t awful, but nor is he good and it’s SO easy to upgrade that spot with just a little money.

The Yankees are making the division JUST interesting enough for it to be annoying. smile
