Look what people have to say about the RLYW!

CAIRO just takes the Marcels and changes the underlying assumptions and components in a bunch of ways that make the Yankees look better.

Wow, two stupid posts in one day. I think you’ve reached your yearly quota.
sabernar

I don’t know if any of you current posters were around for that, but if so, I just can’t understand how you can call yourselves Yankee fans. Pathetic quitters is what you sounded like. Of the lame posts I could stand to read, the only person who had any confidence in the Yankees at that point was a (yeesh) Red Sox fan.

Yankees.com:  Cloud nine: Nova keeps Yankees surging

WASHINGTON—Ivan Nova pitched 7 2/3 strong innings and became the first American League pitcher to post nine victories this season as the Yankees defeated the Nationals, 4-1, on Sunday at Nationals Park.

Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano homered for the surging Bombers as they secured their ninth consecutive win, completing a three-game sweep of Washington and a successful Interleague road trip.

Nova’s finally getting the results to match his peripherals, and I’m very happy about that.  I figured there was no way Nova or Phil Hughes would end the year with respectable numbers given the way they started the year, but they’re well on their way.

The homers by Granderson and Cano helped cover up yet another lackluster performance with runners in scoring position, although as someone here over the weekend noted, if they’re in scoring position but never score, are they really in scoring position?

A cynic might note that winning nine straight games against the National League is about the same as beating the Twins once.  So it’s really more like a one-game winning streak against the worst team in the AL.  Yay anyway.
