There’s no such thing as too many dominant bullpen arms.
Considering how baseball is played in 2017, that theory seems sound. Over the next few months, the Yankees might test it to a degree we’ve never seen before.
Just over a week after acquiring both David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle, the Yankees have one of baseball’s deepest relief units. But general manager Brian Cashman apparently isn’t done trying to upgrade the unit.
According to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press, the Yankees have entered the Justin Wilson sweepstakes.
Maybe as part of a package with Justin Verlander I could see this making sense. On its own, it seems like it would not really be addressing a position of need.
