Current Projected

Look what people have to say about the RLYW!

CAIRO just takes the Marcels and changes the underlying assumptions and components in a bunch of ways that make the Yankees look better.

Wow, two stupid posts in one day. I think you’ve reached your yearly quota.
sabernar

I don’t know if any of you current posters were around for that, but if so, I just can’t understand how you can call yourselves Yankee fans. Pathetic quitters is what you sounded like. Of the lame posts I could stand to read, the only person who had any confidence in the Yankees at that point was a (yeesh) Red Sox fan.

2011 CAIRO Projections v0.3

I’ve just posted the latest version of CAIRO.  Not a ton of changes from version 0.2.

- I’ve added the missing players that have been requested.  I’m sure there are still some missing but hopefully not.
- Moved signed free agents and traded players to their correct teams up through the Zach Greinke trade
- I’ve added a platoon splits tab for batters that is based on the spreadsheet provided in this blog post over at Another Cubs Blog.  The spreadsheet is based on the work in The Book about how platoon splits should be estimated.  It’s pre-filled with the players’ CAIRO projected wOBA but will work with any other projections you prefer to use.  One thing to keep in mind is if you are using Fangraphs wOBAs, they include SB/CS which has no relevance in discussing platoon performance.

Here’s the link: cairo_2011_v0.3.zip
Update: version 0.6 now available.

In Yankee news, there is no news.  Given the options out there, I prefer inactivity to stupid activity and would rather see the Yankees do nothing than sign a bunch of crappy players out of some sense of obligation to spend the money they had earmarked for Cliff Lee.  I’d still like to see them shore up the bench and bring back Andy Pettitte.  Not sure I’m crazy about any of the relievers out there although it depends on the price.
