Not watching this game. Have fun lads.

Watching Barbara Kople’s House of Steinbrenner as an appetizer

[1] You won’t miss it. These games are not at all important.

One win out of 75, more or less, won’t be all that significant. A loss out of 87 even less so.

M’s thrashing Rangers, in Texas.

Jesus still needs a triple to hit for the cycle.

Laz Diaz is unbearable.

Not Joe West unbearable, but still putrid and excruciating.

Well good night. Two batters into the bottom of the 1st is enough for me.

Haven’t missed a pitch this series, but tonight is going to be easy to do it.

3 run game winner coming in 5…4…3…2…

bases loaded no outs only means no runs for WOE, Nova.

Well, that was a bit of a letdown. 1 run sac fly.

Still the game winner, though.

CT underway. It got late, early, I guess.

Chavez is 0-15 with RISP on the season. That is fucking annoying

Un Fucking Believable.  How pathetic is this team.  Its not possible to be this bad I have to believe this is a team wide CHOKE!

How can something be so predictable, and yet unbelievable at the same time ? It is a puzzlement that will carry us through the hot stove season. Which may start before the ASB, actually.

But hey, we can tie the Townies again tonite if we can just make this lead hold up.

Townies on the way up, we’re going the opposite way.

Can we get Arod in touch with Ortiz’s nutritionist.

Men on 1st and 3rd, no outs.

Chance the Yanks score: -100%

1st and 3rd, no outs. Definitely not scoring.

I’m gonna call single, no run scored here.

Granderson, giving Nova the cushion he needs to go out and give up two more runs in the bottom half.

Rally killing homer….

Gameday just went on the fritz. Or tilt, or whatever flash apps do.

Am I watching Yankeeography or the game?

Visualizing the bases empty worked for Granderson that time.

Sometimes, people call me The Grandyman.

They shoulda walked Grandy to create the dreaded bases loaded Arod and Cano up.  A pitcher’s best friend.

Clobbered.

Lawd he did it!

Hitting no good?

[27] Yep. Classic blunder.

Ah-WOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo…....!!

Still not that important.

Still -50% win probability.

Why would you LEAP on a can o’ corn ?

Is everyone just trying to show they have Pedrioa hops ?

This would be a big win, considering that Detroit is ice-cold and has real issues. White Sox are looking good in the Central.

Maybe Nova should stop letting people hit so many home runs.

Nova was downright dominant in the second and third. Now he misses really badly to Morales and walks him. Comes back and makes three great pitches to Trumbo. All down, excellently located. Leaves one up to Trumbo. Hits it out. I don’t have graphs to prove it, but on another note, this home plate ump is giving me agita.

I would blame [36], but really, in a game this unimportant, who cares ?

Nova and Hughes are just awful

Trumbo is also pretty damn good. This is a situation where the detractors (including me) got caught up in the poor .OBP and didn’t give enough credence to the ball exploding off his bat. Nova and Hughes aren’t cutting it. Pretty simple. That’s 2-5ths of your rotation, and Kuroda remains auestionable. Not too much to be excited about. Nova is just getting hammered. Despite the high velocity it’s as if he has no margin of error. His mistakes are getting consistently demolished. I guess he needs to be perfect to look like he did in the second and third. Right now, anyway.

I’d like to go pass out again in my own vomit, but I don’t have time to get that drunk.

I’m just gonna chug a can of soup and stick my finger down my throat.

Face it Nova stinks.  The 5.5 era and 1.6 WHIP were not photo shopped.  Not sure who is worse Nova or Hughes or who still has a minscule upside if either of the two.

If someone would have told me the score of the M’s vs Rangers game would be 21-7 I’d say “You’re crazy, the M’s can’t score 7.”

36 Detroit is ice cold. Wanna bet we turn that around on Friday.

Arod should have charged that bunt by Wilson, it wasn’t a very good bunt.

45. That’s a real suspect team. The Angels are also on fire right now. They are going to be challenging Texas in no time. That’s going to be hard to swallow for the folks who anoited Texas the greatest team ever. Detroit is nowhere near the team that the Angels are.

Trumbo and Trout are really great young players but they are also both scorching right now. Nova and Hughes were hideous, but the lineup they are facing had something to do with it.

Pull Nova and send him to the minors.

Sending a little hate Nova’s way.  Where’s Joba?

Just pull that scrub. They have on off day day tomorrow. Empty the pen and try to win this fucking game

I hope that DP doesn’t make Joe think Nova should get the sixth.

Ah, the old hanging slider hard hit ball to short double play.

I’m telling you, with all the problems this team has had, four games over .500 would be huge. Some of these things (Arod and Cano with .RISP, Swish .OBP, Gardner return, trampoline insurance) are bound to turn. Even if they don’t normalize fully its going to turn a bit.

Ibanez!

Even Posada would have gotten a triple on that hit. How will they strand him?

Holy shit.  I thought Ibanez was a baseruiner but he got on his horse there.

Let’s say that was Granderson at the plate instead of Ibanez. Would that have been an inside-the-park home run?

I can’t believe that drive actually got the run. Poor throw.

Situational hitting!

60. He makes the turn at third. Trout has a good arm. A bad arm in left gets him home.

Trout’s arm didn’t look good on the Swisher sac fly. Although I guess it was more of a bad throw than it was a case of a bad arm.

Swisher keeps making outs. His OBP is barely above .300. The Yankees should be stupid to pay him after the season. they could find a platoon to produce just like he’s producing at 2 million a year.

64. Trading for Carlos Quentin this season and having him take Jones’ AB’s with a chance to push Swisher could be an idea. That was a great play by ARod. He could have been more agressive on the Wilson bunt, as was mentioned earlier. Redemption there. I’m also assuming Trout has a big arm only because he appears to be from Krypton or something.

Aybar swung at ball 4 helping Nova to stay in the game.

Can’t believe Nova still pitching. He should be on his way to the minors right now.

The pitch to Wilson was terrible. Got lucky. Horrified of Trout here.

Nova to face Trout? Girardi wants me to go to sleep early

Bourjos let up on that Ibanez liner off the wall, had he stayed with it he might have had a shot at a play at third.

It looked like he expected Trout to be there.

Trout’s throw on Swisher’s fly ball was not an exhibition of an impressive fifth tool.

Girardi is fearless, apparently.

If they don’t score 4 more runs, they will lose this one in horrible fashion. Don’t you think?

I know there’s been some grumbling about that play last night but A-Rod has looked pretty good on defense to me this year.

64 Swisher’s walk rate is way down killing his OBP.  Dont know why.

Just asking:  The Angels consistently draft low too, so how come their farm system is bursting with major league talent?

I know there’s been some grumbling about that play last night but A-Rod has looked pretty good on defense to me this year.

I think even those that took issue with A-Rod on that play would concede that he’s been good overall on D.

[76]  Though b-ref disagrees.

I love that Girardi still has Nova in there. It’s like he doesn’t give a shit.

What a play by Cano!!

Cano is so lazy.

When’s the last time a Yankee player had a significant injury and returned from the injury EARLIER than expected? Their training staff is like the anti-Phoenix Suns.

How the hell should I feel about this Nova start? The kid’s got heart. Has he been that bad, or a little unlucky to go with the inconsistency? The way he sawed off Pujols shows he has big league starter stuff.

I like Nova more than Hughes. I just don’t think Nova should have pitched the 6th and the 7th after barely getting through 5.

Odds we win this game 15-1 against

Pinch-running Hunter here seems weird. Is he really a threat to steal?

Odds we win this game 15-1 against

No way. Much better than that. I’d give them roughly a 1 in 3 chance of winning.

They should Blacklist Trumbo.

Jeter’s range hurting us on those last two singles???  He didn’t even make an attempt…

Life without Mariano sucks.

Where the fuck was that 2-0 pitch?!

[88] Both were hard hit balls.

Yeah, I don’t think any SS gets to either of those balls.

Great pitch by Wade to K Kendrick.

The loss is going to hurt more after this.

Sweet curve

I think a shortstop with average range gets to both of those balls easily.

why did espn stop showing the game?

Hard to swallow that the Yankees passed on Downs in the same offseason that they signed Soriano for a lot more money.

Cano with a .536 OPS against lefties

I think a shortstop with average range gets to both of those balls easily.

I went back and re-watched and okay, the Trumbo ball was a bad job by Jeter but the first ball was in the outfield grass before Jeter could barely react. I think that’s a hit on any SS.
