You generally don’t figure to score eight runs in a game started by Jered Weaver, so when you do that and still lose the game it’s a pretty tough pill to swallow.  That makes taking tonight’s game pretty important.  The Angels have hit .259/.312/.401 vs. RHP and vs. .230/.286/.333 LHP so far this year, which might bode well with Andy Pettitte going tonight.

I’m thinking about insulating my attic and was told that shredded Phil Hughes might be cost-effective.

[1] - I think that would be too flammable.  Too easily lit up.

[2] It also tends to flake and turn bad in large clumps of blech.

Angels final run total = x
Yankees final run total = x-1

I’m putting together an emergency preparedness kit and have decided that I’ll use the shredded Phil Hughes as firestarter.

Notes from the “recovery”:

Just got a letter from the tax assessor.  My property taxes have been reassessed.  They are going down…AGAIN…because my house continues to lose value.

Funnily enough I don’t really need or want this one.  It just means less money for local services.

Granderson’s strikeout proclivity is a little perturbing.

[6] Reminds me. Anybody read anything about Gardner’s recovery ?

[8] Two weeks away. For the last 6 weeks.

[9]  But his taxes are going down.

The Yankees should just go home now.

I’m really freaking tired of watching other teams rack up ridiculous web gems against the Yankees.  They’re averaging one an inning tonight already.

Devon Trout with another gem.

Flaherty is weetoddid.  “Torii Hunter, one of the best hitters in the league…”

Any time you make a leaping catch 2 feet shy of the wall and catch it on your way down, you’re a showboater.

We have a half dozen prospects as good as Trout or Harper.  Our farm system is stacked like Joan Harris.

I’m about ready for Trout to have a Kendrys Morales moment.

3600 hits possible?

Oh, Kurtis.

Effen safe indeed.

Safe by a mile.

Why is Scioscia arguing? Bases are loaded so run expectancy is in the negatives for the Yankees now.

Hey look, another hit with RISP that doesn’t actually S a R.

Nice job Robby.  We suck with bases loaded.

Gameday hates that call. So does Robbie.

Effen strike also. Robby, sit down, shuddup and get some hits you grinning all day mommyfarnser.

Pin, it was a strike.

Pitch 6 to Cano ? Negatory according to gameday. Not even close.

[27] will rewind or whatever it’s called now.

Yeah, just go home Yanks.  There’s really no point in playing out these games when we all know the inevitable outcome.

Well. I spent the scoreless parts of the game catching up on Mad Men. And this is the thanks I get for tuning in.

Good night.

Even the umps are basically saying “nah, screw you.”

32 good MM, caught it pre game

Game, set match.

[27] It was such a David Cone K. Really. I wish I could comcast it to you.
F this game. Night lads. Fish on Hard Knocks.

Cano on pace for about 65 RBIs from the cleanup spot.

Hughes is so bad he taints everything around him.

Nice subtle slam on Scioscia by Singleton: “Maybe Napoli has improved defensively with more time at catcher.”

Maybe shredded Flaherty is the solution to my insulation problem.  He’s soggy, leaden.

In fairness to Hughes (and I’m nothing, if not fair and open minded, in fact, I’m known as “Pin the Just”), most of this shit is Joba’s fault.

Why are the Yankees never up when I turn to this game?  Do they even have ABs?

There goes the QS loss. So at least it’ll be harder to blame the offense once they crack this open a little more.

Plus, this will hurt the pythag. If we get blown out big enough, we could actually have a better record than our pythag, and that means we’re outperforming, right ? Right ?

Andy took some lessons from Hughes I guess.

Nothing that could happen to the Angels would be too awful.  I’m talking team plane going down.

Yesterday’s game shoulda been a gimmie after the Dream Weaver injury but UJD’s most favorite player didn’t have his usual A stuff.

Look, another RISP that didn’t S a R.

One run nine hits quite efficent…..to poop on

Yanks can’t score with RISP….it must be….the ESTRA TERRESTRIALS

Pin, did you invent Pinterest?  If so, my wife thinks you’re awesome.

[51]  The post we’ve all been waiting for…because it was foretold at Nazca.

[52] Is that some AI that writes plays of the fewest words possible?

[56]  Not sure there’s an I in Pin.

I hate the Angels. but not as much as I hate Hughes.

CT minor

Hitting no good?

Wow, the Angels’ PBP guy may rival the Hawk for shameless homerism.

I try harder tomorrow.

Atta boy Robbie. I hereby annoint Robbie most disappointing Yankee so far.

Both Arod and Cano, our 3/4 on pace to fewer then 70 RBIs.  How many ML teams have 3/4 hitters with under 40 RBIs total so far?

Only surprise tonight was I expected a 2-1 game not a 5-1 game.  Scariest sentence in the English language “Yankees have the bases loaded.”  Especially if Arod or Cano are up.

Angels, White Sox, Rangers. Homeriest announcers in baseball.

Braves are pretty bad too.

Yankees 0 last 15, 1 last 34 bases loaded.  Cano hitting 136 RISP this season.  Come on UJD dont yo
u kinda hate Robbie a little?

[42] I didn’t watch this game or the previous 5 or so due to moving and internet issues, and I’ve been shooting Polish Buffalo Vodka all night, but I’m pretty sure this comment is 100% correct.

[43] “Why are the Yankees never up when I turn to this game?”

Happened to me the other day.  I thought, they’re getting killed on possession time.
