I am not a fan of letting your second most valuable player sit so that your seventh most valuable player can play.  But maybe I’m weird like that.

Yesterday we faced a pitcher with an ERA of 1 and scored 11 runs so 33 runs tonight! QED

With Gardner and Ellsbury being so fragile, I don’t mind giving them regular rest.

Bad throw worse catch. Easy scoop Chris.

Arod not doing a lot of analysis just echoing a few cliches. “You don’t want to give any team four outs,” good point Alex.

Congradulations (a little Rolling Stones for ya) to Danny Duffy and his first no-hitter.

I think he Yankees are mailing this one in, at least in the early-going. Maybe they have some money on KC after the last two games?

Ball 4 Starlin.

Time to trade Headley for Torreyes for a few days.

Homers have definitely been a bit of a problem for Monty.

Ten posts #sad

[9] I was skeptical of his ability to continue the extreme HR suppression he displayed in the MiL. His ability to be an above average pitcher pretty much hinged on that carrying over (even in a lesser fashion). If HRs remain a problem I think his ceiling is basically average MLB pitcher, which is perfectly fine.

I see the HR. How has Montgomery looked?

9 Ditto Pineda and Tanaka.

I blame ‘Alex in the Booth’© for this.

Tanaka 5.8 era CC 4.93 Monty 4.81

Can we go back to firing Cashman now?

Anyone think Chad Green should get a shot in the #5 slot?

It’s an interesting question. Maybe he HAS earned a shot at the spot for a start, let Monty try being a long man.

Ugly ball upcoming in ugly ballpark. Ugh.

I’m not usually this blunt, but A-Rod sucked. A couple of decent on-field observations along with an array of cliches and overdone politeness. (Whit Merrifield is what they call a “baseball player”) He’s going to get a lot of attention and excessive praise for basically being a more boring version of Harold Reynolds at the mic.

Stick with Montgomery for now.

20 Yep see 4

I think A-Rod is just better suited for studio analysis, where he can talk big picture. When he has to fill the entire game with analysis, you get the cliche stuff.

Coney is the best and he should be doing every game. Can we start a petition?

He really is amazing. I like Singleton/Cone. Singleton is not even a particularly good play by play guy, but he’s not actively annoying like Kay.

Kenny nice voice to listen to but too many cliches.  I think Coney brings out the best or least
bad in Kay.

Montgomery is fine for now.  How much more do you want out of a rookie?  He’s better than Severino last year.

The HR are bad.  But it’s not his fault the Yanks didn’t beat Duffy the way Duffy beats his wife.

My question on A-Rod doing color is WHY? isn’t there something better he could be doing with his time? doesn’t he have enough money? Just…why?

[28] He’s being paid by the Yankees, so I guess that is why.
