How often does the pitcher with the 7.36 ERA have the edge over his opponent?
Comments
Aceves is a great pitcher and will be an elite closer. He is throwing 96 mph FB with great command along with good curveballs.
WHy do I get the bad feeling that 2012 is going to be like 2008 - not only in the elecction in Nov but the way the baseball season plays out.
That would be fantastic, because the Yankees only win WS championships when there is Dem in the White House! Sweeeet…
And Kentucky won this year, which is also always a good sign for the Yankees.
PawSox hit Pettitte for 5R, 8H, 3 ER in 5 IP.
104 not encouraging OTOH Paw Townies could probably win NL pennant.
73, 96—hah!
Baltimore and Boston in the 17th up in Townie Town.
Chris Davis goes 2 scoreless with 2K to get the win for the O’s. Boaters on Charles River advised to keep an eye out when passing under bridges.
RLYW - quick post tuesdays lineups so I can start the complaint thread. we are now 1-0 when I go first!
let me start the next game’s moaning now - TEX STINKS.
Whens the last time 2 position players pitched against each other? Chris Davis first AL pitcher to get a win in 44 years since Rocky Colavito. Who’s ready to bring some SOSH quotes. BTF posters are in the acceptance phase and they’re more negative on Agon then we are on Tex.
[108] Is ... is he available? Because it’d be nice to have a solid fifth starter.
LoHud:
“That was good to see the whole lineup produce,” Cano sadi. “We got Swisher back and hit a homer. We’ve got A-Rod. Even Tex had some good swings, he just hit them right at people. That’s what you want. You want your whole team to be back. I know if everybody contributes, we’re going to do a lot of good things.”
I love how he says “Even Tex”. He’s as shocked as the rest of us!
RE 48: Darvish has been striking out a lot of batters, but his WHIP and K/9 are not that much different than Hughesy’s numbers. Obviously, Hughes is giving up a lot of homeruns and hard hit balls to turn more of those baserunners into runs…just saying there is no guarantee that Darvish is going to be great. In fact, there is some evidence that he may be as awful as Phil Hughes, which means the Yankees made a great decision by not signing Darvish….Maybe.
[112] I wrote that for Mr. Cano.
I think I am about to make Kate Upton the official RLYW spokeswoman:
[115] Can she fight for it with the RGX girl? Perhaps in some sort of whipped cream-filled tub?
