I feel awful for not knowing so many of the White Sox. Kevan Smith? Jacob May? No clue.

Whither Moncada.  If I’m giving up Sale I’d like a guy ready to play now.

No Bird, yeah, LHP. Dumb.

How many games feature two hitters, though, that 12 games into the season have neither batting averages nor slugging percentages, but HAVE gotten on base. Mail this scorecard to Elias.

Yolmer Sanchez sounds like a name that would come up in your 15th season of OOTP, when the name generator has just given up trying to make names sound real.

[1] I know a grand total of three of the WS in the lineup tonight and one of those is Melky, whom I was unaware was still in the league until he fielded Smellsbury’s hit.

Hmmm, this doesn’t look like the director of Clerks.

Castro is a strong dude.  He could be not half bad if he ever tried to earn the game.

Chase needs to know he’s not that fast.

Dumb Chase

Low-speed Chase

Hmmmm, this doesn’t look like the creator of the X-files.

The MLB app I used had Carter pops out sharply to 2B. How’s that work?

The Pete Kozma Experience!

The Yankees have really benefited from some gawd-awful defense from their foes this year.

[14] was caught by the 2B in short CF. I presume there was a shift.

17 Yeah but you can’t pop out sharply.

TYM for Holliday?

Don’t try to throw that bullshit by Matt Holiday

Matt Holliday popped out sharply over the left centerfold bullpen.

[18] I can’t, but apparently Chris Carter can.

ETA: [20] beat me to it.

Holliday (in play, runs) lines out sharply to left field bleachers.

It’s Headley!

[16] A lot of teams are running out god awful defensive players to try and get more offense in the lineup. For instance, the Yankees run out one at second everyday.

The White Sox suck.

[27] They deserve this for the off-season FIRE…sale.

Popped out sharply to LF this time.

A 280 pound man just beat out an infield single…

[24] I hate that “in play, runs” when it is a HR. Just put down HR fer cryin’ out loud.

Carter’s working on hisTB swing

[33] Tuberculosis?

[22, 24] Hah!

[30, 33] Carter is trying to reach orbit, and going for the optimal, 90° launch angle.

[31] It takes him what, five strides to reach first base?

I guess the White Sox are terrible, but Montgomery looks like he knows how to pitch

Just imagine Monty playing the Cards.

This is like rolling drunks for money.  Fun!

Aaron Judge is awesome

Holland has been Judged lacking.

And… I’ll see myself out.

[41] Holland has been Judged liable for WAR crimes.

Why is John Franco in the YES booth?

Even if this team is beating up on some of the league’s worst teams (and the Rays, Cards, and White Sox are three of the worst five teams in the league for sure) and the Yankees are playing way over their heads, can we assume there is some hope they keep playing well considering Sanchez and Didi will be back and Tanaka will stop pitching like Snacks Pontoon?

I love that Cone doesn’t have anything better to do then crash the broadcast booth on his night off.

[43] It seemed he was hanging out with Cone and they stopped by to say hello to Leiter. Which makes me want to see Law & Order: Franco and Coney’s Unit

[45] And that is he is just hanging out with Franco and their idea of fun after a few drinks is to heckle Leiter while he tries to call the game.

Hi Michael!

[44] Yeah a few series against actual MLB teams will be illuminating. But they look encouraging so far, especially since they are missing two of their better players.

Let’s see if Monty can battle out of this one.

You’d like to see more strikeouts from Monty.  But this is what he should do, hold a crap team down while his teammates slowly smother it.

Kid has stones. Piñata would have given up four runs there.

[49] agreed.

Is it just me, or was Judge’s HR off the end of the bat?

[52] “Slowley Smothered: The Story of the 2016 Chicago White Sox”

[52] I don’t think he’ll ever be a big K guy, maybe 7 per 9 (when his curve is really on he’ll rack up a few). Montgomery’s success if going to hinge on being slightly harder to hit than average and being able to continue his extreme HR suppression.

[56] Being a lefty starting a bulk of his games in DNYS should help with the latter, no?

Both starting RFers now have an infield single. Crazy.

Monty is getting burned

“extreme HR suppression”

[57] Hopefully. He gave up a total of 10 HR in 297.2 innings in the minors. He’s obviously not going to do that against ML hitters, but if he can maintain normal extreme levels of HR suppression, he should be a solid mid-rotation arm.

Unfortunately, he’s yet to show that ability on the ML level.

Shutout going, but he was gassed.

[62] Yeah, if it hadn’t been 7-0, no doubt they would have pulled him sooner.

[61] I’ll take it.

I thought based on the Saturday game that Warren wasn’t allowed to get six outs, but I guess it is just that he is not allowed to pitch the ninth if any of Chapman, Betances, or Clippard are available.

DFA Bird and Judge

Trade Carter for Barbato

Warren for the save?

Oughta give Warren credit for two K’s after that at bat.

ETA: DFA Warren and Chapman

What an odd series of pitching decisions by Girardi

Everyone on the team should be over 6-3 or under 5-10. Judge, Bird, Torreyes, Kozma, Chapman, Betances

Yay win! Yay streak! Yay strength-of-schedule!

[69] Sheff is 5’11”, trade him before he gets to the show.
