Dear Lord, Ibanez in RF…
While it’s probably not realistic to expect a repeat of Kuroda’s gem last time out, that’s what I’m expecting.
Comments
Ibanez RF Shwish at DH…eh?
I didn’t know the pride of Staten Island was still in the league. Even the worst offense in the league should be able to put some runs on the board tonight.
Maybe Swisher’s groin is still a slight concern?
The lineup is all over the place these days.
Enough of this flirting with .500 bullshit. Win.
I’m concerned with Swisher’s groin. Yes I am.
[6] Which one ?
Does the alignment change with a someone like ibanez in RF? Do coaches give Gardner and Granderson more ground to cover as that would presumably increase the Defensive efficiency. Is there any data on this type of thing?
[8] The stars are certainly aligned in favor of runs.
Stars as in granderson / Gardner or celestial objects?
Double post
Is Nerdfest 2.0 tonight?

I’m so glad it’s baseball season.
But who needs to get traded today? decisions, decisions.
Oh sweet, have we already found a taker for A-Rod????
[12] Nobody was supposed to say anything to you.
[12]
Didn’t you get the invitation, Ted?
Strange…

BTW, Sterling’s voice was cracking like a little girl yesterday… didn’t quite take the sting away of losing Suzyn. Because when you’re a TRUE FAN you love Suzyn Waldman.
I just read that Becky’s fastball has averaged 90.6 through his first two starts. He’s even more cooked than CC! That’s something to be optimistic about.

17. I’d make a joke but I don’t want to be Callous Above Replacement Level.

CARL. It works even better when using Carl from ATHF as the mascot for the stat.
Kuroda is totally fucking cooked.
It’s remarkable how much better a bad offense like the Twins looks when facing Yankee pitching. This is really kinda sad.
He had a good stretch at the beginning, remember that, Pin?
What the fuck is this??
This start has been pretty disastrous, but booing Kuroda? Maybe if he had been anything but drop-dead outstanding in the home opener, but sheesh. Class it up a bit, guys.
Solid pitching
I’ve never seen such a powerful combination of shitty luck and shitty pitching.
Yankees down 4 runs before the National Anthem is even finished. To the TWINS.
What I want to know is, how the fuck did he get the out ?
Yankees will still win this one, fellas.
Hello gents. I still feel confident!
last night was a great night at the old ballyard. The dude who ran out on the field put a sick move on the first security guard. Also, my wife ran away up the tunnel as Andrew Jones’s homer appeared to be tracking straight for our seats. It eventually landed one row up and four seats to the right of us.
Also: then noodle bowl places is one of the better values in the stadium. The lemonade, on the other hand, is atrocious.
Also: there is no better value for a night out in NYC than a weeknight game at Yankee Stadium. Our field level seats were $19. Grandstand seats were going from $1.00 to $1.50. Bleachers for $3.
Jason Marquis? Sean Burroughs? How many other late 90s/early aughts washouts can we fit into this game? What are Erubiel Durazo and Brandon Duckworth up to?
Earliest tease of the year.
Hit the juice, Tex.
Cano needs to stop sucking.
Well, this is a festive first inning.
Is Marquis throwing 85 mph fastballs?
Marquis always looked like a douche to me.
Kurodas ‘s 150 era + taking a hit.
RBI from cleanup WTF?
I really need to start playing the over in these games.
Worst tease ever?
Ja Rule Ibanez!!!
This is a rather ridiculous first inning.
Markee is remarkeebly economical for his whip.
Isn’t the idea of having a platoon that both guys in the platoon don’t start in the same game?
Al Leiter just said he couldn’t get out Tony Pena.
The entire booth erupted in laughter.
Then he said, “Oh wait, I meant Tony Gwynn.”
hilarious. the idea that someone couldnt’ get out Tony Pena…
SicSemper: Gardner is hurt.
Some at bat.
Coming up on 30 pitches from Marquis.
digging the sadistic treatment of Marquis
tough AB by Druw
Arod just a day off?
This game is a mess.
Yanks winning the foul ball line drive game so far.
dang it
DFA Chavez
Well crap. Chavez ripped it, but to the wrong place.
That inning could have been a whole lot more awesome.
Cutter speaks true. I’ve never seen so many foul rockets in one inning. Hard to believe the Yankees are still trailing.
PHuck, at least Chavez hit it on the nose. Marquis de Sade is toast, only a matter of time amirite?
1st inning CT?
That really fucking sucked.
What was that kind of post that none of us miss (least of all - Wombat Pete)?
File this under “heckuva job, developers.”
“On the day of the Yankees home opener last week, the stadium was packed with more than 49,000 fans, but inside a nearby parking garage on 153rd Street, three of the four floors were empty.
Parking cashier Janee Addison estimated about 20 percent of the 2,300 spots were actually being used, and that was during the third inning, when even the latecomers had scanned their tickets.”
h/t Atrios
Kuroda is giving up three here, minimum.
Now hold’em, Hiroki-ee.
/Girardied
High run-scoring environment?
Nah…
I just had an incredible slice of grandma pizza from Forte’s in Caldwell,NJ. Fresh mozzarella, san marzano tomatoes, crispy chewy crust (I got a corner, yay!), a hint of garlic, fresh basil.
A bargain at $3.
Aside from the Yankees, pizza is the best part of visiting my mom in Jersey.
I just want to say the the YES booth is very underrated, though I do miss Singleton.
I thought Cano missed the tag too.
I think you mean Girardi-ee-eed.
Yeah, it was an ok slide, but what a shit job of tagging by Cano. Jeter always holds the glove on the runner, and has gotten lots of outs on oversliders.
Cano is a lazy defender.
Not a good job Robbie.
Aside from the Yankees, pizza is the best part of visiting my mom in Jersey.
Way to diss moms.
This game is the antimatter version of Roger Clemens vs. Pedro Martinez on May 28, 2000.
After yesterday’s display, I wouldn’t mind seeing Martino have some more days off.
Jetes is just murdering the cowhide right now.
Watching Justified finale now. One of the best shows on TV, the best crime show.
[78] Two of the funniest moments on TV this year in that finale.
5 runs to the Twins in just 2+ innings? Really?
I was told there would be pizza?
Bring back Calzone
79:Quarrels is a bad ass!
Aside from the Yankees, pizza is the best part of visiting my mom in Jersey.
Shouldn’t visiting your Mom, be like the best part of visiting your Mom, aside from the Yankees and pizza?
Leiter and Kay totally outwardly arguing with each other on air = runs.
Twins RF didn’t even move there.
[84] I have that mother.
I’m really worried about Cano, you guys.
Ah WOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo…...!!!!
Yanks must have the worst line drive babip.
[90] A little elevation and they would all sail into the RF bleachers.
Stop ridiculing Weekly Journalist just because he has Oedipal conflicts.
Seems like Kuroda is putting an extra 2 mph on his FB since last inning
[93] He was afraid we would start complaining about his diminished velocity.
Kuroda showing Hughes how to suck and be efficient.
[85]
Arguing about what? Sounds fun.
Line drive rocket for a DP in his last AB, Chavez now singles on a duck fart to left. Suzyn, you just can’t…
Marckeeyey showing Martin how he can suck and be efficient.
Looking back: What’s the story of Gardner being injured ? Is it his wrist from that catch ?
Morneau….
