No Fraziers? That’s what “and down goes Frazier” really means.

The Yankees really don’t believe in Austin.

its the name Tyler that does him in. Too many of those.
Also Girardo would have no nickname. Austiny? Tylery?

From the previous thread @17.

But they are among the 10 unluckiest/unclutchest teams in the past 68 years.

Unclutchest wins handily.

(Sevy for the win)

Rob Manfred protecting the Red Sox. They cheated, and insufficient evidence the Yankees cheated, but we’ll fine them for something random so everybody can talk about how BOTH teams were doing something shady.

Woulda been nice to see Judge continue his rush there.

First inning mojo strong.

Castro really flailing. If this were basketball he would be called a chucker. Off his numbers what could he get in the off season?

[6] Yeah, what a loser Manfred is.

What was that Gardy??

Judge with RISP Fail twice in 2 innings.

First and third one out two absolutely horrendous ABs, Gardy swinging at a pitch even Castro would let go and then Judge reverting to his bad self waving at a slider well outside.

[13] See post 4.

Five earned runs in 3 games then 13 yesterday and now 1 earned run so far today.

Sir Di Di of da Bronx.

What were you thinking Head? Bad throw and you were out by a ton anyway.

What is this nonsense that the Yankees “are going for the East?” They’re going for wins.

I mean, are they supposed to say “We want to get the wild card but not win so much it puts us in danger of winning the division?”

When and if they clinch the first WC they’ll go for the East, until then they just want to win them all.

The most insane thing about the Red Sox “punishment,” is that the MLB basically came out and said that they are letting the Red Sox off easy fro being the first team to do this/be caught and that future penalties will be much harsher.

What? They violated a LONG standing rule. Why are they not being appropriately punished? And why would other teams doing the same thing be punished more?

Leagues can’t ever seem to get punishments right anymore. Fay Vincent woulda nipped this shit in the bud.

When Bird gets ahold of them, they do seem to go far.

When Bird gets ahold of them, they do seem to go far.

Birdie! If he gets back to 2015 that would be serious.

If they could face the Orioles in the playoffs, this team could do pretty well.

Kluber’s got to be the front runner now.

Jesus the Rays suck so much.

So…. do Boston fans cry about how their team can’t win unless they’re down in the eighth or ninth? How can they be so close to the NYA record? They must lose every game that’s not a late comeback, a one-run game or an extra-inning game.

The Rays pen had 9 or 10 scoreless against the Yankees so kudos to the douchey townies and fuck us.

Cleveland streak over.

Unreal. Saw it was 5-2 in the 8th or whatever, assumed the Yanks were rocking the 2 game deficit. FFS.

[33]  Always bet on black.  And anything that in some way screws the Yankees.

The townies may not be the best team in the mlb but they’re the team of destiny and Manfred doesn’t want to offend them.

I understand the concept behind the IBB of Bogaerts there, but I would not do that to face Pedroia.

Can the Rays actually escape here? Come on you fucks

0 percent chance bentendi makes an out.

Now score

[34] Seems like a roundabout way to call the Townies organization racist, but I’ll allow it.

40 Good thing they were can you imagine hearing about Teddy Ballgame and Willie ad nauseum.

There’s no way the Red Sox can win every marathon extra-innings game they get into, right?

Pedey 0-7, small rays of hope.

Ha!  Rays.

Why not they’ve won 80% so far this season.

It was obvious that Joe Kelly would be a solid reliever. I just wish he weren’t.

Is it too soon to wish Tampa Bay had been more wiped out by Irma?

Reasonable. Wasnt Jose supposed to be right behind?

Well, at least the Rays can try to fuck the Sox BP.

How many innings until the Red Sox have to cave and put in a reliever with an ERA over 3?

Eight Red Sock pitchers, 2 with ERAs in the 3s, the rest lower. That’s nice.

Chase Whitley in charge, people.  Rays got this.

Team A 13-3 xtra innng games 19-16 one run games
Team B 5-6.  xtra inning games 16-25 one run games

Team A knows how to play the game, Team B don’t

Pythag stupidest metric ever!

Brad Miller is a disgraceful second baseman. Good win for the Yankees tonight though. How about Severino? Third best pitcher in the AL behind Kluber and Sale, and he’s been better than Sale in the second half.

58 Writ in stone handed down from Olympus, The Truth.

60. Did you see the Miller play though? Good grievous. Hands and feet of stone. Unbelievable. Logan Morrison also has the special ability to look like he’s totally balls even though he has good stats this season.

61 No just checked the score sporadically though once the game was tied up the result was inevitable.

Severino is so much fun to watch pitch.

Well, I guess that blows the Sox-Clutch-In-One-Run-Games narrative all to hell and gone.

I think for the rest of the season anytime the townies play and an opposing team gets a runner to 2nd base the hitter should be told pitch and location. Punishment should fit the crime.
