Bet on the Yankees hitting a double every inning until the game ends. No runs scored, of course, but a double every inning.

At least our mass team choke is peaking too early, better to choke now then in September.

[101] That’s runners in stranding position efficiency.

DFA everyone but Pena.

At least some good Olympic events will be on tonight.

[105] Let me guess: Swimming, gymnastics and beach volleyball.

How many guys have taken turns messing up recently?  This is a true team effort.

Why do they let non Americans compete?  At the very least NBC should simply have an isolated camera on the American competitor and if there are none skip that event.

if you could index killer instinct, as a stat, doesn’t it seems like the Yanks of this era would score extra-fucking-ordinarily low?

[108] I thought that’s what they already did ?

Mind you, I haven’t watched an Olympics since it featured Leon Spinks. So I might be a little out of touch.

Tillman is gonna give up 5 in the first and get a win….

A couple swimming finals, the women’s gymnastics finals. You all know my opinions of the balance beam. (That shit is CRAZY.)

Iguana in left is the worst nightmare of the season.

Hey look, Nova gave up another double.  Who woulda thunk it?

Lee 6, Strasburg 0 after 4—and if the Phils hang on, they’ll only be 15 1/2 back of the Nationals.

weird season….

How do you suck Ivan?  Let me count the ways.

[112] Is the roided up chinese girl who swims faster than a man going tonight?

[113] It isn’t his fault. He’s perfect for what they got him for. Half of a DH platoon. He was never intended to be in the field.

The problem is they were in 6 weeks of denial about Gardner, thinking he would be back, and now it’s too late to do anything different.

Stevie Wonder could see Gardner wasn’t coming back as early as Cinco de Mayo. And they did nothing.

Beware Teix. We’ve not seen the last of this injury.

[118]
I once met Stevie Wonder in a record store. He was extremely nice.
When I saw him, he was leafing through the records in the rack.
True story.

[118] Agree. But this is on Cashman as is on Girardi too

It is like the definition of insanity. Putting him out there and hoping that you’ll get a different result.

Are they gonna score again?

[123] Don’t overreact. It’s just as if we were behind 4-0, going into the bottom of the fifth…and…ehm…

Well anywayhoos, he’s at 93 pitches. He ain’t coming back. We’ve got Jobber for teh sick, and…hey, what’s the weather like ? Any chance of a rainout before this becomes oh-fish-ill ?

Why hasn’t everyone been DFA’d yet?

I’m thinking it’s like the end of “No Exit” - this team IS where you go when you’ve been DFA’d.

Even Cano looks bad in pinstripes lately.

124 no

Too many injuries. They are starting to cost the Yankees deep in to the season.

Remember when some of us were asking things like “do we have to have an all-star at every position?”
See, that team would be better than this team.

Remember when this team had a bunch of overperforming players, and we attributed it to undead-powers and we used to call them werewolves and zombies and golems and such ?

That was awesome. Thank Mo they invented video capture so we can relive it into our dotage.

Score 2 to bring Joba for the win

Nice umpiring on the Martin PA.

Lemme guess. No Joba because the game’s still too close ?

Is Sterling insinuating that the Yankees are throwing this game???  What a weirdo.

Each member of the Yankees is exactly 1-3. That is creepy.

[136] They’re looking to improve their drafting position. Sneaky.

townies tailgating us, honking their horns and signaling us to move to the right lane.  We’re moving over but wait we’ve parked on the shoulder.

Three runs on the way.

Swisher is so slow

WHY IS IBANEZ HITTING HERE!????!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?

This is fucking non sense. This team is a joke and a lot has to be with poor managerial decisions.

Why not use Rapada here with 2 lefties back to back instead of Eppley, who has thrown 21 pitches?

Is Girardi in the game?

Meanwhile in Wrigley, Burnett is throwing a no-no after 5 innings

Rooting for a CT one run loss.  At least that would be worth a laugh.

Fuck this team.

Can we now bring Joba in ? What’s to lose ?

This was another nightmare.

Scoring 5 in the first must be tiring.  I understand and sympathize.  Sort of like running to fast in the first quarter of a mile race.  We won’t repeat that mistake.

At the risk of seeming reactionary, I have to chime in. I’ve followed this team religiously for nine seasons now, and I cannot remember any other season with so many candidates for “worst loss of the year”. Also, at the risk of sounding like so many of the complainers I hated in the mid-aughts, this team seems so gutless compared to its predecessors over the past half-decade. Rant over.

The most overexposed land mammal covering the most overexposed water mammal in the Olympics.,

If only we had held them scoreless in the 2nd inning, we’d be clinging to a 1 run lead here. If only…

I stand by the fact that I’m not getting upset until the lead is down to under 5 games….of course I also said I was going to stop drinking for a little while…not seeing how I can keep BOTH promises at the same time…

You know….because they are playing like poop

Both promises, like most, were ill advised. And therefore not binding.

It is for this last that I make a habit of only making promises while drubk.

[155] We can do plenty of drinking for you.

Glad to see Logan pitch a scoreless inning when it DOESN’T MATTER.

What a pathetic loss. Does this destroy our positive run differential over our true talent streak?

Also funny is that I have tickets for Friday night, so….that should be interesting.  Glad I think I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon so I probably won’t be able to follow.

what a wretched performance…..they lose tomorrow and they lose the division.

Yeah, but we’re ok. We don’t need to add any pieces to our aged and infirm roster. Oh, and we can be competitive at half the money. Being consistently in the Top 3 for the Division every year is good enough. Respectable.

I liked the one-run losses better.

Things really aren’t THAT bad. Honestly. If they win tomorrow, it is a 6 1/2 game lead. That’s not bad. Especially with Seattle coming into town.

Of course, that provides that they don’t lose tomorrow. With the great Casey McGehee playing first and Jayson Nix playing third.

Not that it matters, seeing as how he sucks and is terrible and stuff, but any word on how long Teix’s non-structural, non-soft tissue injury is going to keep him out ?

In other words, what’s the normal recovery and rehab for amputation ?

[164] We’re what 2-10 for the last 12 ? How long before you come around to the reality that it is, in fact, that bad ?

163 Me too.

Nova seemed totally clueless in post game.  BTW he’s running away with league leadership i. XBHs allowed.

The Yankees are the Bob Costas of baseball teams.

[168] Quite a contrast from his in-game performance.

Austin 4-5 tonight

Now I’m concentrating on work to take my mind off of baseball?  ugh.

[171] Trade him

Of course Boston and Tampa Bay both won (well, Tampa Bay hssn’t won yet, but they’re up 5-0 to the hitless wonders of Oakland).

5 1/2 up on Baltimore, 6 1/2 up on Tampa Bay and 7 1/2 up on Boston. Yeuch.

Next year they’ll be a year older with no help in sight from the minors for a while, if then, so cut the shit Yankees…......ENUFF!
