You know, if you’re going to carry a 13 man pitching staff and a two man bench, you don’t need ‘length’ from your starters.

Outscored by the Bucks 3-12 at home. And counting. Blow this team up, starting with everyone who wears a uniform but doesn’t play.

They were lucky in the first game of the series.

Yeah, Nick just needed to face the Yankees.  Just like how the Royals will get their first home win this weekend.

Girardi doesn’t look so good when he doesn’t have a team full of players any one of which is a pretty good choice.

Can the guys in the bullpen hit?

[101] You don’t need length when you’ve already played past Hughes-day and you’re skipping Garcia-day.

[106] As well as the rest of the lineup, they can.

Whiplash and possible concussion for Chavez.  Which pitcher will we call up?

Cano will turn it around. But I would not be surprised if Tex OPS’s under .800 this year. The pitching staff worries me more - we only have one year of data for Nova, and who knows how a 40 y/o Pettitte will be after a year off?

“Whiplash and possible concussion for Chavez.”

Any word on how this happened? Knowing Chavez, the concussion was probably a result of a bird shitting on his helmet.

When we rebuild I hope we get more then Plunk, Polonia and the other guy Cadaret

[111] He hit his jaw on the ground during a dive at third. At least that’s what YES showed.

[113] I saw the replay and didn’t see any contact. Whatever.

Oh, goody. Garcia warming. I would like to revise [82] upwards by 2 more runs.

Just retire, Tex.

Mark, just go away.

[114] His arm/shoulder/back were blocking the view on the replay I saw, so I was half-guessing.

WTF ? Is Igauana reading pitches by Braile ?

Foul pop-ups. My favorite.

I can’t believe he actually popped it up again.

Nuñez is the worst player ever to wear pinstripes

I wish I didn’t have such great foresight

Freddy throwing heat out of the pen.

Looks like the pen hasn’t fixed his high splitter.

Andino should be cheered every AB and taken out to the finest NYC nightlife on Hal’s dime for that hit vs Papelbon

Eric Plunk and Polonia?  How about Greg Cadaret, while you’re at it?

Well, that took a long time to show up.
In the meanwhile, you DID get Cadaret.
Amazing.

No, Michael Kay, it is not at all surprising that the Yankees offense could face the Orioles for three games and come away with 3 runs. If Kuroda doesn’t pitch a gem, this was a sweep.

128 power of edit conceals fawlty towers memory

What a fucking clown

Junior Seau, R.I.P.

Nunez. Sigh.

He is still on this roster due to the power of denial prospect lovin’ optimism.

[131] Rickey stole your hard drive. It’s all bueno.

(133) Yep. I guess he had no peace on this plane. Sad stuff.

is it too early to deem the 2012 Yanks a shambolic sideshow?

Garcia threw exactly one pitch above 82 mph to Nick Johnson in a nine pitch AB !!! NINE !!!

Tex’s popups must be contagious

I don’t have to say anything about this story, do I ?

Don’t call it a comeback!

Because it’s, like, totally not a comeback.

Oh man, how are you going to leave Tex on deck like that???

This is painful to watch. The Yankees look like a bad team right now.

I prefer a shutout to a CT

Over/under on Chavez missed time?  I’ll set the return date at July 15th….

I’ll set the return date at July 15th…

July 15th… of what year?
/low hanging fruit]

Question #1 ? Has Longoria joined the ranks of the Chavez/Johnson I’m hurt Skip, can’t play fellas, or is he still in the Reyes/Wright F U skip this hurts call someone up group?  Question #2. How much fun would it be to smack the effen crap out of Mark Teixiera? I just enjoyed his postgame smiling head nodding “We need to step up” bullshit.  My active hatred for this bag of dicks has shifted smoothly into second gear.

[147]
Translation: we need to be replaced by those other guys you may have heard of who can, you know, play baseball.

[147] I so hate Teixeira. Say what you want about Alex, he has shown a willing adaptability and sense of responsibility for the excessive contracts he demands.

Teixeira is playing us for fools. The whole “I’m gonne be bunting past the shift” was a total deke on fans and the organization, but it’s more of the same.

In short, he’s a douchebag. How big a douchebag ? He is so big a douchebag that he fed us the story about reworking his approach to hitting during the offseason, and get this - by drawing on the knowledge and advice of the manager of our longest standing division rival !!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !

“I’ve been hitting there for two years now at Bobby V’s academy, and he’s there a lot,” Teixeira said.

That’s right, Bobby V is the font of Teix’s “new swing” ! Going back “two years” is code for “dating back to my offensive decline which started in 2010”.

Here’s Teix’s last 5 years of OPS:

2007 .963
2008 .962
2009 .948
2010 .846 <- This is where Darth Bobbius takes on his new padawan
2011 .835
2012 .656

And that, ladies and gents, makes him a Douchebag of the First Order, With Crossed Swords and Diamonds.

i’d trade teix to the dodgers for a handful of tickets to the magic johnson theater.

149 Interesting.  Methinks he need a new guru Benedict Arnoldism not withstanding.

{149} Oak leaf clusters too. Schteeve you know I love you but magic johnson ref’s may net you some ridicule you don’t deserve.

[149]

Is that .656 OPS adjusted because he’s seemed to be doing much worse than that.

[153] I lifted those numbers from bbref, so they are accurate to whenever they were updated.

152- pretty sure the Robertson blowjob thing already took care of that.

here’s the root of my completely over the top hatred of tex….he looks like a dork. now if he was a good at baseball dork, fine. but i shouldn’t have to root for a dork who sucks at baseball it’s just not fair.

I started calling Tex out last year. He’s 32, how much is he going to improve? His wife, however, is beautiful.

I was at the game in fancy tickets we got from the mother of one of my wife’s co-workers. The seats were wonderful (18 rows behind home plate). The game was awful. Blech.

Honestly, though, the Yankees had a tough schedule to start and they’re not really that far off of the pace. When they start getting the easier teams, they’ll kill ‘em. That’s what this team has been built around for some time now - beating the bad teams. Which is fine by me. The postseason is mostly a crapshoot, anyways.

The Orioles have hardly been a great team though.
