NJ.com: Carig: Yankees ace CC Sabathia heading to 15-day disabled list with elbow stiffness

TORONTO—The Yankees will place ace pitcher CC Sabathia on the 15-day disabled list with stiffness and inflammation in his left elbow.

The pitcher first complained about stiffness in his elbow after his Aug. 3 against the Mariners. But an MRI exam at the time showed no structural damage and the pain subsided, allowing Sabathia to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against Detroit.

Wonderful.

Rookie David Phelps will start in CC Sabathia’s place on Monday, according to the person with knowledge, who requested anonymity because the moves have not been announced.

Cool.

The Yankees signed recent released veteran right-hander Derek Lowe to join the bullpen, according to a person with knowledge of the team’s thinking. Lowe, who was released by the Indians this week, is expected to join the team on Monday.

Why?

Oh, with Lowe in the bullpen, this might not be catastrophically bad. Used in the right situation, Lowe can come in and generate a bunch of ground balls from right handed batters.

You just can’t have him face a team who knows he’s pitching when they make the lineup and throw all their lefties into the game.

Plus, Phelps. For the Phuture. So we can drop Freddy in the offseason, like we got rid of calzone. Thank Mo we don’t have Calzone. Calzone was totally fucking cooked. Ha ! Get it ? Cooked ? Calzone ? Ha ha ha ha ha !!

What ? What point what ? But what about his… oh, really. Hmmm. Well.

To repeat from older thread - I blame myself, I’m watching The Town right now.  Actually no….I blame the Mayans.  Derek Lowe with the Yankees is clearly a sign of the imminent end times.  Poop - I need more beer…

Also, Nick Swisher’s wife is making films where she plays doctor with a monkey.

Is that Annie’s Boobs?

Can the monkey pitch?

No, but his strike zone is tiny. Smaller than Pedrioa’s, so he draws walks at an alarming rate.

Trouble is, every time he’s given first base, he just climbs the backstop net and flings feces at the fans. So he serves a lot of ejection time.

Are the Yanks selling extracted elbows on the black market?

[8] I understand they invested big in appendixes, and having trouble moving them. They are reported to be big buyers of stem cells and tritium, however.

Was Pontoon unavailable?

I believe he is busy ruling a Duchy somewhere.

[10] We jettisoned him because we didn’t think he had another overachievement year in him. So he signed with Oakland where he is…overachieving.

[12] Wrong Pontoon, Pin. I was referring to Snacks.

Ooops. Yeah, I was stuck on Calzone.

Pontoon ? Dead. Drunk in a ditch in mogadishu. Who knows.

Yay Indians.  Here’s hoping for an all Cleveland subway ALCS.

#4 I believe he/she is Annie’s Boobs.

[3] I want to live in a world where that TV show is referred to as a “film”.  You have made that happen for me!

[9] I wonder if all the professional team doctors in the country get together and laugh about how the Yankees team doctors have fake medical degrees from Hollywood Upstairs Medical College.

Just shut everyone down for 2013, they gave it a good effort.

Is anyone else astounded that our centerfielder is accomplishing the semi-rare feat of hitting 30 HRs with a SLG% under .500?? I sure as hell am…

[18]  Yes.  All the horses had a good time.

I’m hearing that for next year the Wild Card rules will get a little tweak.
The winner of the first Wild Card will play Boston for a place in the ALDS.

It’s all for the good of the game.

[21] Where they get to face Boston. In the case of a Bos-Bos matchup, the Red Sox may choose to play the winner of the local Sully’s Roadhouse and Packaged Goods Softball Beer League.

A win today by NYY and CLE will return TWN to a share of the basement. Then they can rest, as Order will have been restored.
