Interleague play!  Yuck.  At least we don’t have to watch pitchers attempting to bunt before striking out for the next three days.

If you’re going to play both Andruw Jones and Raul Ibanez, why would you ever choose to put Ibanez in LF over Jones?

Johan Santana can guarantee a no-hitter tonight by walking runners into scoring position then pitching to the Yankee lineup.  Not sure he will pursue such a strategy, but it would work.

Joe sez best case scenario for Gardner is to return in Atlanta; D-Rob could make it back for the Nationals series.

Sadly the Mets won’t have a losing record after this series, not that I care.

Kuroda got an out in the first.  Impressive.

Way to take pitches Jeter.

congratulations to Santana on his first perfect game

Where the hell is Gary Denbo

Yay Cano!

How come we get two runs for a solo hr?

Damnit, now we went and put runners in scoring position.  These guys never learn.

Jeter on a roll…...downhill

Bobby V says he’s going to open the next Yankee game by walking the first 3 hitters

The jungle fever has really destroyed Ike Davis.

Good thing we put our $30 singles hitter in front of Cano.

Holy Mole`

Well that was awesome.

This was the matchup I was worried about. Hopefully this portends well for the rest of this series.

It’s very difficult to forecast baseball with a high degree of accuracy

Kurodi is, uh, pitching fairly well through five.

Well, that was fun for a little while.

When is Gardner coming back?

Jeter jinxed it with the error in the fourth

[24] Not soon enough.

TSBG begins rehab tonite might return vs Braves.  Joba threw off mound.

Yea, good call gents, Ibanez looked like he was running after the fly with cinder blocks attached to his feet.

[22] it’s those NL lineups.

YES just showed that Gardy’s 1 for 3 so far tonight with a K and reached on an error.  Leading off and playing LF

Townie downie 6-2

A hit here doesnt count with a 6 run lead

Hello GIDP.

Not to worry.

[32] Let’s not get overly optimistic.

Look at how well they have optimized their stats for deception today.  They continue their futility with the bases loaded, lulling other teams into a false sense of security that all they have to do is load the bases to get out of a jam.  Yet, they are still outperforming with bases empty and runner on first (only), convincing opponents that those are the high leverage spots.

So glad the no-hitter is gone. Had tickets for tonight but had to give them up. Is Hiroki hurt?

[37] Are you watching? Looks like it hit him on the inside of the foot. Hopefully just bruised.

Jeter is 0-17 isn’t he?

[38] Thanks. I walked into the room and just saw him limping

That was the first hit with RISP tonight.  In an 8-0 game.  I believe it was also the first hit with RISP since April.

Hey, it’s my favorite Yankee, Ryota Igarashi!

I assume you have the #43 jersey.

When 113 players have played for both teams, is it really worthy of comment any more?

Yay win!  Yay…Igarashi!

Can they start Kuroda in every interleague game?

We need to skip CC’s turn as often as possible.

Derek Holland has a fatigued arm? Guess Nolan Ryan isn’t a revolutionary after all.

[47] Less CC, more Nova and Hughes !

I feel dirty, now.

Ah-WOOOOOOooooooooo…......!!!!!!

(I’m watching in time delay b/c I hadda work)

Swish !!! Wooot !

So much for KLong’s job being in jeopardy.

#43 just means he’s one better than Mariano, right?

Jones ? JONES ?? Jesus Tapdancing Montero !

I can’t help but feel that Swish and Jones following Cano’s shot cheapens it. Good thing he’s got two under his belt to maintain his respect.

No help from the Marlins tonight, to sneak into first.

What if the Yankees are trying to get the guy on second to tip the pitch to the hitter, but they all really suck at it so it backfires?

Townies about to go down.

Clippard with the save.

First place, baby !!

Flaunt it while ya got it, I says.
