Stewie !
Would Ichiro increase his BA as a Yankee if he fails to get a hit?
Methinks the GD link is incorrect. It brings up yesterday’s game, which is the last thing we need brought up.
Fuck me. Stewart looked like he slowed to a trot rounding 3rd, then had to step on it to (barely) beat the throw at the plate.
Ichiro just has no interest in taking a walk. He’s constantly getting in good hitters counts, so the plate discipline is there, but I guess he’d rather swing the bat than take the free base. With everything we’ve heard about his batting practice bombs, maybe he is the rare guy who could have been a completely different kind of player but just chose not to.
[5] 10 for 39 in his last ten games with 0 walks and 0 strikeouts. Truly exceptional.
Serling says he laughs at those who keep odd notes about short stop’s fielding, “Jeter makes every play and his team wins all the time.”

How odd. I believe it is working correctly now.
As for this game, why didn’t they move Seager to first and keep Ackley at second? Wouldn’t a third baseman moving to play first be easier than a third baseman moving to play second and a second baseman playing first?
We could use a DNYS Cheapie from Granderson, here.
Ugh. Freaking Montero.
disgraceful
Fuck yeah shockmaster
For the first time, Ichiro’s OBP>BA as a yank.
Sac Bunt coming up
and he doesn’t get it down. choke
Posts on track to destroy yesterday’s low. Olympic fever catch it. USA/Turkey ladies volleyball and Men’s Field Hockey tough acts to top.
Another fine mess Ollie
Can Ichiro keep one of the oddest hits streaks ever going?
My brother (a Mets fan) did not know Perez was back in the league. He discovered it when Perez blew a win for King Felix recently (who my brother has on his Fantasy League). Ah, Perez, the gift that keeps on giving!
The Papa Johns hit!
You can’t stop Ibanez you can only hope to contain him.
And a Shockmaster shall lead them.
[16] 100 meter final tonight too. 3 Americans, 3 Jamaicans, and 2 other dudes. My money is on Bolt.
I wonder if Ryan snares that Ibanez hit if he was playing.
Huge AB for Ichiro coming up
Can the silly streak continue?
Haha. Are they seriously going to call it a hit?! Hahahahahaha
23 do we know what time?
They did call it a hit. Hilarious!!
He’s a machine. A relentless, unstoppable 1 hit per game getting machine.
USA Women’s volleyball has a player named Destiny Hooker.
Duncan seriously got a hit in his first eleven games as a Yankee? Wow, I know he had a nutso year in 1996, but that’s still surprising.
I love any record that involves being tied with Don freakin’ Slaught.
Can Ichiro break Don Slaught’s record tomorrow?
So he’s going for the lowest-possible value hit streak ever.
Fabulous.
I really did like Don Slaught back in the day.
Don Slaught was a great name. Liked him.
Watching taht guy with no legs run is pretty incredible.
Sac bunting in front of Chris Stewart maybe not the best move.
Good thing we bunted.
I really don’t get it. How do you play for a Chris Stewart sac fly? That makes NO sense.
Robertson with a 4 run lead and few upcoming days off?
[31] So does the Spearmint Rhino.
[39] It’s like sac bunting in front of the pitcher. Jayson Nix isn’t exactly Mickey Mantle, but he’s a better hitter than Stewart. Just a total headscratcher.
I *think* the 100M will be live at 4:50 PM EST.

Edit: Well, live online. Not sure about anything else.
Who are we rooting for in the Baltimore/Tampa Bay game? Baltimore, I presume.
A meteor strike.
I’d direct the meteor elsewhere if I had my druthers.
True, although both B’more and Tampa would be improved with a little meteor action.
It would make for an interesting Sports Center.
[43] Bolt won by a 1/10 of a second. Which is huge. Jamaica 1-2 US 3-4-5.
Bolt is superhuman. I don’t know jack about running but it seems like he accelerates like nobody else in the field.
Uh spoiler alert?
[50] He’s unnaturally tall to be so quick. Generally sprinters are “short” for athletes, right around 6’. Usually taller guys have issues accelerating, as it takes them longer to come out of the crouch fully (the 100 is really all about acceleration, the 200 is about raw speed). Bolt has the best raw speed in the world because he has insane power and a massive stride. What makes him so good is that he’s able to accelerate like a guy 6 inches shorter than him, with the speed of an elite 200 meter runner at 6’5”.
[52] Is it really a spoiler for a live event?
When NBC is showing it on tape delay it is. Remember when the NBA finals were on tape delay?
