If the Yankees want retribution for Hernandez breaking Alex Rodriguez’s hand, pounding him out of the game today would be a nice way to do it.

This could be a very quick game…

This could be a record for lack of posting here.

I guess they don’t want retribution.

Most people have better things to do than see a mediocre Felix Hernandez mow down the Yankee lineup.

yes, yes, yes and yes

Serling just made an excellent point that you don’t want to get down 2-0 or 3-0 to Felix.

[7] But do you want to go down 4-0?  Sterling raises more questions than he answers

Montero’s having a better year then Pineda or Campos

Montero’s really a lefty masher 359/406/573 979 OPS
Kinda think he’d of been useful for us.

Nice swing by Ichiro, but he’s already gotten his single for the day.

I think John Sterling would be the first to admit that he is merely a child playing along the shore of the great ocean of knowledge.

Wow that’s just exactly what he said after acknowledging the difficulty in forecasting baseball

[12] He’s at the pool about 10 miles inland of the great ocean of knowledge. The salty knowledge bits irritate his eyes.

[8] Best post ever.

Making more noise RLYWers or Yankee offense?

Don’t care how good Felix is, this is a pretty horseshit effort by the Yankees.

Iguana - NYY player of the game?

17 Yep and we’re not doing so hot either

Robertson is still excellent.

They’re playing like all they have in mind is getting into their air conditioned cars.

Hernandez only at 79 pitches through 7 innings?  Eesh.

[20] Wait, I thought he sucked now. Can we be consistent, please?

This Hernandez kid looks like he could be pretty good someday.

Page two is the rally page

[25] I have hopes for tomorrow too.

“Ace” means dominate and then give up 2 runs in the final inning, right?

Yay 7th straight game decided by one that we lose which if we were a 500 team would be 127-1 against.  Well done team.

Clearly we should have pitched Fredo or Adam Warren today and Kuroki tomorrow

Let it hit you on the foot for crying out load Jeter

So we lose 2 out of 3 to the effing Mariners at home.  Bold prediction we will win a one run game before the end of the season.

[31] - So they’ve already lost tomorrow’s game?

This is gleaned from comments elsewhere since I’m not sure where to find the pertinent data.
I think we’re now 0-36 trailing after 8 and no I’m not going to predict we’ll win one of those this season.  In those games the Yankees had the tying or winning run at the plate 17 times in the 9th.  I believe we only got to one closer in the 9th Valverde but lost anyway.  Have we ever gone this long without a 9th inning comeback?  If AJ were still here the pies would be going rancid.

32 Fredo vs Iwakuma with a 3.4 era over 5 starts and last start struck out 13.  I’d feel better if Phelps were starting.

MLBTR says Cust is now a Blue Jay. Says we released him this week, somehow I missed that move. I thought we were just talking about whether he might be called up before September. And Wise is gone, too. Does this signal they’re making room in AAA for some promotions from AA ?

He was on the Cust of a call up

Actually, I was convinced he was on the Cust of Collatse.

I’d like to watch Federer-Murray. Have you guys figured out the best way to watch this on a computer?

Double amputee runs 2nd in 400m heat.

[40] So there’s hope for Gardner ?

[40]
That was Gardner.

Yankee trainers expect a full recovery

Bold prediction we will win a one run game before the end of the season.

That’s not happening.

Ichiro is up to 11 straight 1-hit games? Anyone know the record for this? At leasst it will give me soemthign to root for. It would be cool if he got a huge hitting streak up with an average below 250.

Oh, yes. Really cool.
Somebody save me…

Track and field is so much more interesting then swimming but I guess since americans don’t dominate as much as it does not get as much television time

Oh Aceves I now have a full blown man crush on you.  My favorite non Yankee of 2012

[47] Except that we are pretty dominant in the sprints. And track and field has the best spectator event in the world: the 4x400.

The Jamaicans in the sprint. I like the 1500 and the way they once covered the pole vault was riveting.

[50] The Jamaicans have the best upfront talent (right now) but the US has the best depth in the world. The 1500 is close to the 4x400 in terms of spectator sport awesomeness.

bebop’s opinion of what sport is best is obviously correct so NBC should change their strategy despite record-high ratings.

Men’s swimming events are clearly the best spectator sport.

Women’s beach volleyball.

The thing about swimming is not just that Americans dominate, and that’s what gets the ratings , but the nature of the sport allows for inflated medal counts like no other.
