Once again Phil Hughes matches up with a pitcher who has an ERA over 6 which is still better than his.

So, the theme of this pitching matchup is Selling Low vs. Holding On Too Long.

Noesi better era then fill

7 pitches-2 outs.  Phil should exit now that he’s hit his high note.

I’m completely flummoxed. Since the game is on the local TV, I’m watching game action before GD, not 1 or 2 batters behind. It’s really hurting my head.

[4] Shouldn’t you be cleaning your house?

[5] Actually, the trouble and strife was just after me about washing the windows outside. I sent her away disappointed.

Noesi seems fired up, FB velocity around 94-95

Damn you Sterling.

Ichiro with the leaping catch at the warning track…but he made it look hard, and that’s what great defenders do.

Thou shalt sit back down on the bench.

Montero looks a bit like Pujols now with his new facial hair. Fortunately for the Mariners however he doesn’t hit like him.

When did Phil start throwing gas again?

[12] When they rigged the gun.

Fuse at 22 pitches and 6 batters faced.

The odd part is that we’re not still in the first inning down 3 with runners on the corners.

Ibanez is too good for this team.  We need to trade him by July.

I’m beginning to really like Iguana.

Whoever had the “give up 3 doubles and a homer in an inning” play for Hughes instead of Noesi, you lose.

I just checked the game. Hughes through 2 in 22 pitches? WTF?

At this pace he’ll replicate his 2009 production with the Phillies. I will certain accept that.

Wow!  Teix, Ibanez and Martin.

Noesi is terrible. We win the trade!

I think I’ll go buy a megamillions ticket.

I think Noesi just sucks…

nix-o?

I don’t even know who Jason Nix is. When did he join the team? Is he related to Laynce?

Nixonian!

Home runs into the first row in right should really only be a triple.

Well, there goes the perfecto.

[27] He came up about a week ago. He was one of the rogues gallery we’ve had in LF, even though he’s an infielder by trade. We saw a bit of him in ST.

27 younger brother

0-2 what’ll he do

1-2 what’ll he do

“We’ve switched the bottom of the Yankee order with the top—now, let’s see if anyone notices!”

2-3 what did he done

Dude, Iganez is awesome

Clearly Cano bit him.

Rah-WOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooul…...!!!

Brian Cashman is the geniusiest genius that ever geniused.

I wonder if Ibanez reads this blog?

Hmmmm. Anyone ever notice that OTF never posts in a game where Igauanez plays ?

Ibanez is old too.  I’m convinced.

I honestly can’t believe what I’m seeing. I don’t think I’ve busted this out since 2010 first half, but…

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHES

Has any Yankee starter done anything like this all year?

SG, may I post a link to this entire festival we’ve just put together?

Still too many pitches per batter, but Hughes is pitching better off late.

It’s also easy to pitch against the M’s

[44] Kurodey went 8 shutout innings against the Angels back before anyone knew the Angels sucked.

[47] The same Angels that hung 6 on Phil in 3.1 innings the next day. That game sucked.

How many runs too long will Girardi leave Fuse in for ?

Yankee batters forgot how to draw walks

[50] DNYS surpresses walks for increased doubles.

I just got here.  Who’s really pitching?

So what does 7 IP of 1-run ball against Seattle prorate to against a good lineup? 4 IP, 3 ER? Still not bad as Hughes starts go.

Seattle has been scoring 3.7 runs a game, so that was a solid performance.

Especially in a bandbox.

Noesi pitching really good since the 2nd inning

If you don’t count the innings where he gives up lots of runs, Noesi pitched a QS.

Didn’t CC just do this vs. a much, much better team?

Tough luck for Hughes

[54] Which is fourth-worst in the AL.

[59] Seattle stinks, but Phil did a good job against them.

Will Alex ever hit 30 hr again?

This one is in hand, fellas.

[61] His next contract year, maybe.

[60] Holding any team to 1 run over 7.2 is a good performance.

Is this perhaps the shortest game of the year?

This Mike Carp guy is killing us.

Mike Carp vs. Mike Trout, discuss….

Oh carp.

[67] I prefer Kevin Bass.

[67] Who is the best fished named baseball player of all time?  And does Catfish Hunter count?

Mike gameday was very confused by what just happened. A little help?

Also, there’s a Mike Bass who plays for UNC Wilmington!

[70]Tim Salmon, duh…

Yay Hughes! Yay Win!

[72] I’ve only begun my research, but per b-ref, Dizzy Trout has a higher WAR than Salmon.

Yay Hughes! Yay fish players! Yay Win!

Hughes threw way too many fastballs right down the middle. Against Seattle, it won’t cost you, against a contender, it’s a different story. Let’s not get carried away.

Looks to me like Dizzy Trout is indeed the kingfish.

So, let’s go Rangers…

I can’t believe I was at this game, it really happened, and I’m already home.  I still refuse to believe in Hughes yet, he’s hurt me too many times before…

Fun game - great day out - not even any Waves in the park.  Good times!

Does Marlon Byrd count? He’s got fowl in there too.

I will not stand for Trout on this site.
Any trout.
I apologize for the language I have used.
That is all.
