This is probably the last game of the Yankees’ season.  It was mostly fun while it lasted.

Did Girardi see how hot Ellsbury was for the last month? Just wondering.

It took Girardi an awful long time to move Bird up and Castro down.  But yay.

Kimbrel is the goat. Yay.

Still need a Yankee win to make this a great day.

I can’t believe how well this is working out for the Indians.

But it goes a long way to prevent it from being a disaster, Friday was The Disaster. And Pedroia made the final out after Devers provided the CT.

Did Girardi see how hot Ellsbury was for the last month?

Huh? Ellsbury’s started two of the three games so far and has been hitless. So…wha?

I approve of the new lineup.

Kay “what is the formula for winning this game?” Kenny"getting the crowd into the game.”  Yeah that’s it.  Everybody loves Kenny and he loves the cliche.

Els was hot but then got real cold. Nobody’s really hitting Gardy 083, Judge 000, Didi 091, Head and Els 000. Hicxie and Bird doing well, why isn’t Hixie batting 7th instead of 9th?

[3] Maybe understandable given how much time he missed? He was really only hitting well for about a week before the playoffs. Let’s hope he proves Joe slow.

[11] Hicks ninth means he’s clumped with the top, better chance of men on for Judge/Didi? Not too much of a stretch. How much less likely is #9 than #7 to get an extra PA?

The Yankees may lose today, but they still won more postseason games this year than the Townies. So there !

All I ask for is a reasonable 32-0 cushion for Severino in the top of the 2nd. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Sale in the postseason: 0 W - 2 L / 9.2 IP / 9 ER / 13 H / 4 HR

And four more years on the Pedrioa contract.

Coveted starter failing when it counts? Interminable contracts for an underproducing veteran? Are the Red Sox secretly the Yankees?

[14]  I believe it was Colonel Jacob Ruppert who said, “I like to see my team open up a ten-run lead and then slowly pull away.”

Survived longer than TWN during a “rebuilding” season and when they sold the farm for Sale. Even after tonight’s 14-0 loss, I consider this year a success.

Given Game 2, I think it’s too modest a request.

[16] No, that was me.

David Ortiz on the pregrame “Look at Boston—” A-Rod: “We don’t have to look at Boston anymore.”

ARod with a solid burn on Ortiz while Ortiz was trying to give a weather forecast, “you don’t need to look at Boston anymore.”

[20] Beat me to it.

Gotta love ARod !

ARod also said he believes Bird could be the best of the Yankees new big three based on hitting mechanics.

What’s amazing about Mo is that he retired really just because he felt like it. He probably could still make a Major League roster TODAY.

Colonel Pinus! Welcome to the family!

We have a friend we’d like you to meet, you may have served together.
Colonel Pinus, Colonel Angus.

Is there video of that A-Rod/Jamba exchange?

Apparently, Pedro fixed Severino in the off-season. Awesome!

[24] Is he available tonight?

Wow, the warning track looks like soup.

Twice as good as the Wild Card game!

Sevy looks sharp given the weather. Looks fired up too.

Schadenfreude is watching the townies lose the same type of game the Yankees lost a dozen or more times this season.

[26] It was on the FS1 pregame show, but maybe someone will post it on the youtubes.

I think Gardy has already seen more pitches in this AB than any Yankee did in any single AB in Game 1.

what’s the record for strikeouts (batter) for a 5-game series?

And that, amazingly, is 20 pitches for two outs. At least keep doing that.

EDIT: [Facepalm]

This lineup is an improvement but I’d still switch Didi and 🦅 and move Hixie to 7th.

Sanchez REALLY needs to stop that first-pitch-groundout shit.

[32] Schadenfreude is watching it in the breakroom at my office in Boston surrounded by townies fans.

[39] Congratulations on this, your best day.

What’s the record for the lowest batting averages 1-4 hitters 077-000-091-200

[41] Whatever it is, I am sure the 2012 Yankees’ ALCS team holds it.

bebop, 1 run in ... how many innings now?

what happened on the field?

You could hear that thud off Urshela’s leg

Bauer is getting calls inside. He was getting everything Thursday night. Does not make the job easier.

According to GD, a lot of pitches missing - by a lot.

Todd-A-OK sometimes.

Fly me to home plate!

I always liked Todd Frazier

44 Castro hard smash to 3B, called error, passed ball, double by Todd.

Another 20-pitch inning. Keep that going.

Runs are good.

And that’s why you have a back-up Aaron in your line-up. Just in case your primary Aaron goes off-line.

This would be a good time for Gardy to hit a 500’ dinger.

Warm ‘em up, Tito.

Trevor Bauer is a 26 yr old righty with a career ERA+ of 99.  We can hit this guy.

Judges turn to shine right now!

Judge’s turn to shine.

Repost from May:

These the assizes: here the charge, denial,
Proof and disproof: the at-bat is the trial.
The pitcher is defendant, and the jury
Sits in the bleachers, and the judge is fury.

Wha…they are scared of Didi and not Sanchez?

Judge finally with a big hit in the ALDS.  Nice to see!

That was an awesome at bat by Judge. Took, some toght curbes to fall behind 0-2, spit on three more that were out of the zone, fouled off a tough high heater then the double that was truly ripped. Loved that.

And why intentionally walk a guy right before bringing in another pitcher?

That’s why ?

Bah.  Still 4 runs are good.  More please!

Sancho. Seriously. Get your pitch, dude.

IBB to Didi .  Their Roogy and Loogy are killing us.

Moar runz pleze.

Severino looks in control, which is nice to see.  Hopefully he can give them distance and give everybody rest for a potential game 5.

Four two-out runs is really nice.
And Sevy looked way better after the first.

You know what would be nice?  More runs.

Starring Starlin.

Get er done Chase.

And that’s why Head should bat 9th.

The bad old Yankee days are back.

Ungood, Hicks.

A little help from our friend.

Yay error!

I’ll take it.

Clevinger’s right arm tic was so annoying.

5 two out runs all unearned

Was that Jason Mews from Jay and Silent Bob/Clerks pitching for the Indians?

[89] Funny, they showed a stat (I think) that showed Cleveland giving up the fewest unearned runs of all teams this year.  Thank you irony.

Tough crowd.

I have a feeling Bauer isn’t going to get them this time.

Dear Aaron judge - while you are probably right that these low pitches aren’t strikes, at this point you should realize the umps are going to call it a strike. So when it is a two strike count please swing.

95:Yankees need to raise that issue in the off season with MLB. Does Stanton have similar issues?

Has any team ever blown 2 5 run leads in a 5 game series.  If anyone can do it the Yankees can.

[99] For a one-run loss.
