I guess Tanaka won’t be opting out this year after all.  Of course, I’m not sure I want another 2 years of 11.74 ERA…

Wonderful, interleague play already.  At least this is with the DH.

Ellsbury the clean-up hitter. Hilarious.

I’m semi-OK with inter-league this year because it looks like I’ll be going to one of the games at Wrigley, which will be very cool.

Can someone explain how a 343/323 Gardner can have a higher bWAR than everybody else on the team when they are almost all outhitting him? (Judge for example)  Can defense really be that big a deal?

[3] He doesn’t.  It looks like my spreadsheet to pull in bWAR after they redesigned Baseball Reference won’t update.  Judge leads the team in bWAR at 0.8.

Thanks. You da man.

This is exactly how the season will end. Tied with the Townies for second in the division, missing the WC by 1/2 game to LAAAAAAAAAAaAaaAAaa.

So… Tanaka is broken?

Seriously Tanaka.

OK. I’ll take it. Still down on Castro.

Castro could’ve been not bad if he tried to learn the game.

So, Romine….against Wacha. Faced twice. Two HR’s. OPS 5,000

Quiet game thread. Everyone out drinking?

four hole!

Wheels Headley beats ‘em out again.

[12] Don’t mind if I do ...

[12] I’m posting from church.

Oh, who am I kidding ? No, I’m home in my underwear drinking Glenkinchie.

Hey let’s trade Tanaka now that his trade value is up again and we can get moar prozpex !!!

This game is over. Girardi stayed too long with Tanaka. No confidence Clippard isn’t coughing up the lead in the next four pitches.

Shouldn’ta used Clippard there. Too late in the game for him to get enough innings to stretch him out as long man or starter. Yep.

What the fuck are those two clowns behind the plate doing ?

Do they think they’re fake umps or something ?

YES just showed a clip of a very young Abe Lincoln in a Cards uni sitting in the dugout sucking his own facial hair. No joke.

Do these kids even know what they look like ?

How does Torreyes never walk with that tiny-ass strike zone?

Sole possession of 2nd place !

So, 6-4 with Tanaka having two garbage starts and one mediocre start. Not too shabby. Still on the trade Tanaka train though.

First round draft choice Kyle Holder hitting 029 at Tampa.  Except for Abreu none of our actual prospects excelling so far.  Not even Gleyber.

So, Bird is going to miss another season because he’s definitely playing on a broken leg, isn’t he?

[26] Patience young one.

I spent 3 1/2 hours driving out to goddamn Palm Springs for a meeting and another 1 1/2 hours driving back.  Yanks winning on the drive home was the highlight of the day.  So no snark from me today.

Tanaka’s era only .8 higher than Cy Porcello’s.
